Welcome to LOCANDA MASER

Locanda Maser sits quietly in the heart of Piazza Roma, Italy, offering a humble yet genuine retreat for travelers seeking an authentic Italian experience. With a rating of 3.4, it caters especially well to visitors who value warmth and simplicity over luxury. This modest hotel merges the old-world charm of a classic “locanda” — an Italian inn serving food and lodging — with the needs of modern-day explorers.

The atmosphere at Locanda Maser is intimate and unpretentious. Guests consistently highlight the exceptional kindness of the management, especially Franz and his brothers, who embody true Italian hospitality. Their thoughtful gestures, such as offering homemade cake without charge or providing helpful local tips, create a feeling of being welcomed like family rather than just customers.

For cyclists and motorcyclists, Locanda Maser stands out as a safe haven. It offers secure parking for bikes and flexible accommodations for travelers on the move. The proximity to Treviso and Venice makes it a practical base for those planning sightseeing ventures or leisurely explorations around the Veneto region.

Rooms are simple but functional, with clean, private bathrooms and essential amenities focused more on comfort than technology. Guests should not expect modern innovations like air conditioning or smart automation, but will find everything they need for a restful stay. The modest breakfast complements the overall unvarnished charm — sufficient but without extravagance.

Locanda Maser shines brightest in its emotional appeal. It evokes a sense of authenticity rare in the tourist-centric hospitality industry. This is a place where hospitality transcends transactions and where small, heartfelt moments, like a free slice of homemade cake, linger in memory longer than any five-star luxury might. It’s a destination for travelers who appreciate sincerity, local culture, and a slower pace.

In sum, Locanda Maser is a meaningful stop for those on a genuine Italian journey. It may not dazzle with lavishness, but it wins quietly through kindness, safety, and a warmly personal touch. For visitors who seek connection over convenience, it offers an honest glimpse of Italian life and easy access to the surrounding treasures of Maser and beyond.

We stopped by for some information as it was the only place open. The manager was exceptionally helpful. We returned later in the day for a drink and the manager, realising we were very hungry, gave us some home made cake to keep us going. It was delicious, a very sweet and thoughtful gesture, and he would not accept payment for it. Thank you!

We loved our stay at Locanda Maser. Franz and his brothers were very welcoming and extremely helpful in giving us advice about where to eat out and how to get to Treviso. We arrived by bike as part of a cycle tour down to Venice and found plently of space at the back of the Locanda to safely leave our bikes. Franz even allowed us to leave our bikes there after we had checked out for a night, while we went to Treviso overnight. This place has bags of character and so much history. I know it won't be for everyone, but we will never forget it. Grazie Franz! Laura, Norbert & Lina

What I loved about LOCANDA MASER: 1- Some Italians still use the term "Locanda" to address a place where one can eat and sleep or simply stop and drink some coffee. It's an old fashioned but very sweet way to call an hotel & restaurant these days. 2- I am a biker/rider and I usually ride long distances. This is a perfect place to stay for those who are not too demanding, park their bikes safely inside the property, have a warm (and reasonably priced) dinner, refresh, sleep, have breakfast (very basic though), and leave again. 3- The hosts are friendly, polite, helpful and fun to talk with. I arrived late in the evening and there was Mr Davide waiting for me, sitting outside the property and singing along with the TV on, which was playing old songs from the 1960'-70'. He handed over the key to me, opened the back yard, where he invited me to park inside, suggesting the right spot under a roof, just in case rain would have fallen and, after taking me upstairs to the room he said "Don't worry you can pay for the room tomorrow". I said to myself: "what wonderful person he is! Hard to find one these days" 4- I slept in a small and a bit dark room but towels were clean and so was the (tiny) single bad. But guys.. I was so tired that I could have slept even on stones . 5- The morning after I walked down to the breakfast area and I was welcomed by a smiling lady asking me what I wanted to drink. I said "please can I have a cappuccino? "... And while she was making it she gently pointed to a table with packed cakes and freshly made ones. There were also packed fruit juices but that's nothing for me so I passed it. Cappuccino was good and so the cake. Yes, sure, I can't deny that with a bit of more effort (and little more money) the host could prepare a more attractive breakfast, maybe a boiled egg and a slice of bread and butter... But that I leave it to them to think over 6- I went back to my room, packed everything and walked dstairs ready to go. At this point I met Franz ( Davide's brother) - who by the way, the night before, had also handed me over a warm blanket due to my feeling pretty cold after riding for ours during that night. So, Franz is the one I paid my room to and, with a smile he asked me if I had had breakfast already. I said: "Yes I did, but if you want to make another coffee for me I'll highly appreciate it". "Of course I can make a coffee for you Sir"... he said and there he disappeared behind the espresso machine. With coffee in my hand and sipping it slowly we start a nice conversation on his & my life and then he tells me a bit of the story of Locanda Maser. I asked him: "Why is it that you score so low on Booking and that even reviews turn down your property so badly?".. And he says that the reason is "People these days are unreasonable, they are frustrated and unhappy (true I said to myself while he was talking), they have high expectations while demanding to pay for it the minimum possible. This Locanda has been here for nearly a century and yes, I understand that we could renovate it and make it a 3-4 stars hotel. But what for? People would then still complain about something because that's people's nature nowadays..... So we prefer to keep it like this, simple, maybe a bit funnily spooky for some (and he smiles) but with no stress from our side. We like it this way and if our guests complain because we charge them half of the price they would pay in a better propriety, I don't understand why they come to us ... (smiling again). 7- Those words made me think a lot..... Yes, people usually tend to complain when they are unhappy and this is so much so in this frenetic and self-created busy life. Being humble and unpretentious are rare qualities to be found in people these days. 8- Could I therefore have the right to complain if my room was a bit dark, the bed perhaps too short (but clean) and the breakfast was not the one I usually have at my home? Would I stay again at Locanda Maser when passing by this area when I know that for Eur 35- I can sleep, have a good chat and leave?
